WCAG 2.2 AA — web content accessibility
WCAG is the W3C guidance for web content accessibility. Version 2.2, published in October 2023, adds nine new success criteria on top of 2.1.
Principles
WCAG is built on four principles: Perceivable, Operable, Understandable, and Robust (POUR). Every criterion fits under one of these.
Levels A, AA, AAA
Levels A and AA are the legally relevant ones. Toiste measures journeys at AA via EN 301 549.
Changes in 2.2
New criteria cover focus appearance (2.4.11/2.4.13), dragging (2.5.7), target size (2.5.8), and easier authentication (3.3.7/3.3.8/3.3.9).
